Oh Trisha...

Trisha, Trisha, Trisha. The girl is too smart! In a previous post, I mentioned that she had figured out "Santa Claus"...we had to come clean. I mean, I didn't want to continue to lie to her and I didn't want to say, "You don't believe, you don't receive", becasue I don't want her to lie to us. That was sad enough. But, NOW!! Oh, I can hardly even think it, much less have to talk about it. I have to come clean with her about S-E-X. I'm blushing right now writing this blog!! Her teacher this year is with child and that has caused her to ask some questions. Again, I could keep lying to her:

Trisha: "Mom, how do babies get in mommies tummies?"
Me: "Well, God somehow just puts it in there." (Of course, this then led her to ask why Jesus was so special then, since everyone was made that way.)

or evading the question:

Trisha: "How are babies made?"
Me: "Great question."
[ENd of discussion]

or feigning ignorance:

Trisha: "How are babies made?"
Me: "I have no idea. I still trying to figure out how I got four kids!!"

See, none of those work. I want to create an open, honest network of communication in our home. No wait, scratch that...I really never want to talk about anything difficult and yet still have my children turn out as perfectly healthy and whole individuals. Of course, that will never happen, so Trisha and I will have to have "the talk". God help me!

Nikki-

I happen to like all your options for the talk with Trisha except for the one that you are choosing. Think back...I'm pretty sure that I thought babies came from a Stork until, well...yesterday;)

I dont want little sweetness to know...and THAT's final

I just thought of a new one:

Trisha:"where do babies come from?"
Me: "I don't know...why don't you go ask Aunt Kristin?"

I so very much love the "great question!" option. Smart, smart Tricia would not fall for it, though. Would you like me to send Dobby to The Burgh and she can help ease her through the discussion?

Also, I can't believe "I am large" made it in here. I was howling.

My blog's back, too, after abandoning it for like a year. There's a post about getting near the end of my pregnancy and then a picture of Maggie at her first birthday.Yikes. Also, I would not read around the kids right now because the most recent post discusses Maggie's current bout with "The 'Rhea" (a phrase I stole from you) and uses the scatological term for the substance I am currently awash in.

Merry Christmas to the Klans!!
